<\/a><\/p>\nThe Bodywork<\/strong><\/p>\n So the tank, tail, side panels & front Mudguard are all off. Front Mudguard is shot, so got another one from ebay.\u00a0 Red tank is shot, so used the black tank from the spares or repair bike!<\/p>\n The tank, side panels, tail piece and front mudguard have all gone to be painted by Mick at:<\/p>\n CUSTOM PAINT STUDIO Website: – custompaintstudio.com<\/a><\/p>\n Will hopefully have them back by the end of Jan 2012.<\/p>\n So with all of the bodywork off,\u00a0 I start to see some of the work I am facing!<\/p>\n First off is the exhaust system.<\/p>\n All throttle & clutch cables removed.<\/p>\n Started at the front to get some of the wiring out of the way. The wiring loom has been butchered over the years and there was plenty of black tape covering lots of bodged wiring.<\/p>\n Carbs & Airbox off\u2026..that was painful, not a lot of room, plenty of blood and a buggered tickover assembly.<\/p>\n Plenty of room when there is nothing there and I thought I had small hands.<\/p>\n Offending items on the bench!<\/p>\n Main loom off, its seen better times!<\/p>\n See what I mean!<\/p>\n Rear end is off, shocks, swing arm & mudguards.<\/p>\n Rear light and indicators.<\/p>\n Looks very naked know!<\/p>\n Rear wheel out of the way\u2026<\/p>\n Need to decide what to do\u2026..paint or powder coat?<\/p>\n Strapped to the ramp, next….time to get the engine out.<\/p>\n Last few bits off and on the bench ready to be sorted into boxes!<\/p>\n Engine out and on the ramp!<\/p>\n <\/a> So thats it…its all apart, so some the bits go off for some work:<\/p>\n Powder Coating: Bournes – www.bournespowdercoating.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n Chroming: ACF Howells – Croft Street, WALSALL, WS2 8JE<\/p>\n Engine rebuild: Zed Parts – www.zed-parts.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The bike arrived in the back of my good friends “Tom Smith” van as a pretty tatty, but running, MOT’d & taxed bike..
